It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! It’s time to begin thinking about gifts not only for some of our family members and friends, but also for our Grace Christmas family. This year we thought it would be a great idea to think of the most needy children among the Karen church (refugees). Would you bring wrapped gifts–toys, clothing, gift cards–labeled with the age and gender of the child the gift is intended for? Then we’ll get each gift to an appropriate Karen child. We’re getting a somewhat late start, so please be your generous selves and bring gifts this Sunday and next, placing them in the container at the back of the sanctuary. Incidentally, the Karen Church will be joining us this Sunday!
This will be a very special Sunday for our children. They will be hanging their stockings in the library and putting the final touches on the Christmas tree. (Adults: Please join our tradition of slipping candy, coins, and small gifts into the stockings!) Also this Sunday, the kids will have an opportunity to pick out their costumes for the presentation of gifts to the Christ Child on Christmas Sunday.
Please let Sharon know (email@example.com) if you’d like to join others in singing Silent Night in different languages. Children as well as adults are invited to participate!
Our Christmas Eve Service is at 5:00pm this year — a brief candlelight service. After the Christmas Eve Service, children will have an opportunity to open their stockings.
